Cubelock is a physics-driven gameplay prototype centered on modular, ability-based cubes that interact through force, momentum, and environmental systems. Each cube carries a distinct mechanical function—movement, impulse, gravity manipulation, energy transfer—designed to create emergent problem-solving and player-driven experimentation. The project explores systemic design, mechanical clarity, and scalable rule interactions with the long-term goal of evolving into a fully realized game built around dynamic physics and combinatorial abilities.

(Large Cubes can only be carried using the gravitational tool called the G.R.A.V.I.T, with the UE5 toy gun being used as a placeholder.)

G.R.A.V.I.T: The Gravit is your main tool. It can pick up any block or physics-based object, letting you move or throw them to interact with distant objectives.

GRAVLOCK C.U.B.E: The Gravity Locking Cube (GravLock Cube) uses a magnetic system to attach to specific walls. It locks into place for about 10 seconds, allowing for quick jumps and new pathways.

FLEX C.U.B.E: The Flex Cube is the simplest of the cubes. Small but big at the same time. Interacting with it causes it to increase or decrease in size and weight, allowing for unique puzzle setups and traversal options.

PHASEPOINT C.U.B.E: The PhasePoint Cube teleports the player to its partnered cube. Direction and momentum are preserved, enabling more advanced puzzle interactions.

BOUNCE C.U.B.E: The Bounce Cube, inspired by games like Portal, has a propulsion effect when touched. It bounces the player based on a preset multiplier. Soon this will be based on the player’s current velocity and direction.
